SWCC – the world’s largest seawater desalination company
The Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) is responsible for the desalination of seawater. It supplies various regions within the Saudi Arabian kingdom with desalinated water. SWCC is also the largest electrical provider in the country, owning 30 plants and 4000 km of pipelines.
How FPC Risk provided fire safety for the SWCC desalination plant, from A to Z
FPC Risk was responsible for the fire safety of the desalination plant in Jubail. First, we conducted a site survey, followed by a fire risk assessment. We prepared tender packages for the upgrade and the design of fire protection and detection systems for the power plant’s powerhouses: from substations, electrical process buildings, offices, and canteens, to general and hazardous storage areas, and warehouses holding mixed commodities.
Our team performed hydraulic calculations for every proposed fire protection system, including sprinkler systems, water spray deluge systems for the transformer and turbines, subsurface foam injection systems for fuel storage tanks, and foam deluge systems for fuel transfer pumps and fuel unloading facilities.
